Shipping & Delivery
Every piece, packed like it matters
The items in our shop have survived decades — some nearly a century. We intend to make sure they survive the journey to you, too. Every order is packed by hand, with the care a fragile, often irreplaceable piece deserves.
Processing time
Orders are processed and packed within [1–3] business days. Because many of our pieces are one of a kind and packed individually, we don’t rush — careful packing matters more than speed.
You’ll receive a confirmation email when your order is placed, and a second email with tracking once it ships.
We also ship internationally to select countries. International orders may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, or fees determined by your country — these are the buyer’s responsibility and are not included in our shipping charges.
Shipping rates
| Order total | Shipping |
|---|---|
| Orders over [$150] | Complimentary |
| Orders under [$150] | Calculated at checkout based on weight and destination |
Shipping is calculated at checkout before you pay, so there are no surprises. Rates are based on the actual carrier cost, the size and weight of the piece, and how much protective packing it requires.
How we pack
Fragile and vintage items get extra attention:
- Each piece is wrapped individually in acid-free tissue or bubble wrap
- Tins, glass, and delicate items are double-boxed where needed
- Voids are filled so nothing shifts in transit
- Especially fragile or high-value pieces may be packed with custom padding or crating
If you have a specific concern about how a particular piece will be packed, [email us at Info@upinsmokeantiques.com] before ordering and we’re glad to talk it through.
Carriers & transit time
We ship via [USPS / UPS / FedEx], choosing the carrier best suited to the size, value, and fragility of each piece. Typical transit times once shipped:
- Standard: [3–7] business days
- [Expedited options, if offered, are available at checkout]
Transit times are estimates provided by the carrier and aren’t guaranteed, especially during holidays or periods of high carrier volume.
Tracking your order
Once your order ships, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a tracking number. You can follow your package from our hands to your door. If your tracking hasn’t updated in 10-15 days, reach out and we’ll look into it.
Insurance
All orders are shipped insured for their full value at no extra cost to you. In the rare event a piece is lost or damaged in transit, we’ll work with you and the carrier to make it right. (See Damaged in Transit below.)
Damaged in transit
We pack carefully, but shipping carriers don’t always handle packages gently. If your piece arrives damaged:
- Take photos immediately — of the packaging, the damage, and the shipping label, before unpacking anything further
- Keep all packaging materials — the carrier may require them to process a claim
- Contact us within [48 hours / 3 days] of delivery at [Info@upinsmokeantiques.com] with your order number and the photos
We’ll guide you through the next steps and work to resolve it fairly — whether that’s a replacement (where possible), a refund, or an insurance claim.
A note on our pieces
Because we deal in vintage and antique items, every piece carries the honest marks of its age — patina, wear, and the small imperfections that come with a long life. These are described and photographed honestly in each listing, and they’re part of what makes each piece authentic. They are not considered shipping damage.
