Return & Refunds

We want you to be happy with your purchase. Because we deal in one-of-a-kind vintage and antique pieces, please read our return terms carefully.

Our promise

Every item is described and photographed as honestly as we can, including its age-related wear and imperfections. We want no surprises when your piece arrives. If something isn’t right, we’ll work with you to make it fair.

Return policy at a glance

  1. 14-Day Return — the return period starts from the date of delivery.
  2. Shipping Costs — the buyer is responsible for return shipping, packaging, and insurance. Original shipping & handling charges are non-refundable.
  3. 25% Restocking Fee — applies to all returns, to cover handling, inspection, and relisting.
  4. Original State — items must be returned in the exact same condition as shipped. If an item is damaged, altered, or shows wear not present at sale, we may refuse the return or deduct a fee.
  5. Return Value — issued as store credit or exchange only. No cash refunds.

Return window

If you’re not satisfied, you may request a return within 14 days of delivery. To be eligible:

  • The item must be in the same condition in which it was received
  • It must be returned in its original packaging where possible
  • You must contact us first at Info@upinsmokeantiques.com to start the return

How to start a return

Email us at Info@upinsmokeantiques.com within 14 days of delivery with:

  1. Your order number
  2. The item you’d like to return
  3. The reason for the return

We’ll respond with instructions. Please don’t send anything back before contacting us — returns sent without prior approval may not be accepted.

Store credit & exchanges

Once we receive and inspect your returned item, we’ll notify you of the outcome. Approved returns are issued as store credit or an exchange of equal value, less the 25% restocking fee and original shipping & handling charges. Store credit is issued within 5–10 business days of inspection and never expires.

Return shipping

Return shipping, packaging, and insurance costs are the buyer’s responsibility, except where an item arrived damaged or not as described. We recommend using a tracked, insured service — we can’t be responsible for returns lost in transit.

Damaged in transit

If your item arrives damaged, this is handled under our Shipping & Delivery policy — the terms above (restocking fee, store credit) do not apply to transit damage. Photograph the damage and packaging immediately, keep all materials, and contact us within 48 hours of delivery. We’ll work with you and the carrier to resolve it through replacement (where possible), refund, or an insurance claim.

Not-as-described items

If a piece arrives materially different from its listing — beyond the normal age-related wear we describe — contact us within 14 days and we’ll make it right with a refund or return at no cost to you. The restocking fee does not apply in this case.

Non-returnable situations

We may be unable to accept returns when:

  • The return request comes after the 14-day window
  • The item has been damaged, altered, or further worn after delivery
  • The “damage” described is the honest, disclosed age-related wear noted in the listing (patina, existing dents, fading — these are part of a vintage piece’s authenticity, not defects)

Sale and brokered items

Items marked final sale, or brokered “Make an Offer” pieces sourced from partners, may be non-returnable. This will be noted on the listing where it applies.
