Automatic Electric Monophone A1 — 1920s Mahogany Bakelite
A pristine original AE Monophone A1 cradle telephone from the 1920s in mahogany Bakelite — one of the special-order colours available at the time. A beautiful example of Art Deco design.
What Makes This One Rare
Most A1 models did not have nickel hardware — many had painted brass bands. This example features original nickel-plated bands on the Type 38 handset with spitcup, along with a matching original nickel-plated dial blank, which is very seldom seen. All Bakelite has been polished to a high gloss. No damage or issues — a truly pristine piece.
Comes with the original fancy braided extensicord handset cord. No line cord included — will display beautifully as-is.
Restored by specialists with 18 years of antique telephone experience.
